ABORIGINAL LAND CLAIMS
THE REGISTER OF ABORIGINAL LAND CLAIMS
The Registrar of the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 (NSW) has responsibility for maintaining the Register of Aboriginal Land Claims under section 166 of the Act. The information that must be included when each claim is registered is set out in section 167 of the Act.
All land claims that have been made since the Act came into force in 1983 have been recorded in the Register.
HOW TO MAKE AN ENQUIRY ABOUT LAND CLAIMS IN NSW
Enquiries about land claims may be made by
- an organisation
- a company
- an individual
Enquiries requesting a search of the Register of Aboriginal Land Claims database should be made on the 'Request for search of Land Claims Register' [PDF] form and forwarded to the Registrar at:
