OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
PRIORITIES OF THE OFFICE
The Office of the Registrar strives for effective and efficient performance of the statutory and ancillary functions of the Registrar in accordance with the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983.
To promote this aim, the Registrar's Office gives priority to:
- providing timely and accurate advice and assistance to Aboriginal Land Councils in accordance with the Act
- providing timely and accurate advice and assistance to persons seeking to be registered as Aboriginal owners pursuant to the Act
- providing timely and accurate advice to the Minister administering the Act
- providing information and the promotion of the Act to all relevant persons, and
- the effective use and development of the resources available to the Registrar
